Soft Matter Physics at Georgetown

Welcome to the lab

We study the mechanical properties of soft and biological materials using externally applied shear forces and thermally driven fluctuations.  The goal of our work is to elucidate the role that meso-scale structure plays on the macroscopic physical characteristics of soft materials.

Through rheology, three dimensional confocal microscopy, and a
coupling of the two, we quantify characteristics of
soft materials.
